5 Things To Try

Last weekend's continued.
Add a pop of color or try diy art. It doesn't really add a pop of color, but I saw this quote on pinterest and had to redo it. I'm not the most skilled person when it comes to art, hopefully later when I have more resources I can actually put it on a canvas and maybe spray paint it.

Wear faux fur. It belonged to my great grandmother and I think she got it in the sixties.

Glitter Guide. The link for this weekend.

So my model name is Ari Bleu Clair, that is actually super cool sounding until you translate it to English.  The last name is my favorite color, but my favorite color changes all the time. It may be Ari Violet next week.

Next start planning your dream vacation. Done and done. I'm planning a trip to Disneyland this spring and am so excited. This will be my second time ever , the last Disney trip I took was 10 years ago! Not only am I going to Disneyland, but I am also going to the beach, something I have never done before, unless you count the lake, which I don't.
I have other dream ,more exotic ,vacations, but this is the most recent and what I'm most excited about right now.

Basic Looks for a Vacation

I was going out of town and I have so much makeup that I can't take it all with me. Also I usually don't want to spend a whole bunch of time doing my makeup when I'm on vacation. So I came up with a few basic looks that are quick and you won't need to bring too many makeup products with you to complete.

What I brought:

An eyeshadow palette.
Colors I used: black, dark brown, white, brown, shimmer white, silver, purple, blue.
Or you could bring those colors in separate containers if you don't have them all in a palette. To keep those numbers down you could just bring a shimmer white and skip the silver and you could bring one color instead of two (like the purple and blue) and use the same color for both looks.

A glitter highlight.
It's a glitter/shimmer eyeshadow cream and I brought it just for a fun night. In case you want to get all dressed up.

Lip Colors.
I just took two colors. One bold color and one pale color. And many of the days I didn't wear a lip color.

Black eyeliner.
Stuck with black because that's the color I use the most and other colored eyeliners would take up more room. I guess not a whole lot, but black is just basic and quick.

Mascara.

Concealer.

Brushes.
Do not forget your makeup brushes! I did this one time and it was not fun. My fingers just can't do the same thing that a brush can.

Here's a basic dark look. I used a very dark brown on the lower lid. I would have liked to use a grey, but the palette I had didn't have one. There is black in the crease and black liner on upper lashline in the lower lashes. Mascara and a light pink lipstick.

Simple eye with a bold lip. So a neutral color on the lower lid, brown in the crease, black lining my eyes, and mascara. The bold lip I used a bright pink or you could do a red or an orange.

Just one color. I decided on purple. I put the color on my lid and lined my eye in black.

The simple go to look. White on lower lid, brown in the crease, black upper lashline, mascara, and a pale pink lip or I just put on chapstick that gave it a shiny look.

Going out? A fast shimmer eye. Silver on lid, shimmery glitter highlight on top of that and a shimmer white in the inner corner. Mascara and I tightlined my eye. Which I don't do very often because it tickles my eye, I know weird.

A pop of color. Do a neutral or I still have the shimmery look from going out on. And put a little color on the lower lashline. I chose a light blue on the inner lower lashline and a darker blue on the outer lower lashline.

Also while on vacation I got these new shoes. I think they're adorable and the lace makes them prettier than Toms which I'm not a huge fan of.

5 Things To Try

I just found theglitterguide, which is a website full of fashion, beauty, and lifey things. They have this article series that they post on Fridays called "5 Things To Try This Weekend" and I can never resist these types of posts. So predictably they give you five ideas to try. And as one always trying to find new and fun things to do, I have saved every single post they have done and put it upon myself to complete each one.
I just started last weekend's list, I know it's not the weekend, but that's how I roll. I figure there are five things why not spread it out through the week
The first one was to cuddle up with a book. Which I accomplish almost every day. Check.
The second one which I just completed (sort of) tonight is glamping. They said since it's the winter we can glamp inside, which is my kind of camping.
I'm not exactly sure what glamping entails, but I think I did pretty well with the food aspect of it all.

First I roasted a hotdog over the stove. In my opinion over the stove tastes the best.

Then I made smores. Tried something I found on pinterest. Melt chocolate chips, milk, and marshmallows over the stove, pour into a pan, layer marshmallows over that and stick it in the oven until the marshmallows start to turn a golden brown.

Then dip Graham crackers in it.

I think I'd rather just make the classic smores. It tastes ok, it's quite sweet, but it was a bit of a hassle to make. The recipe I got just told me to melt the ingredients, stick marshmallows on top and pop it in the oven. Nothing about how much to use and at first I was melting it in the microwave which wasn't working so well, looked at the pin again and saw that it looked like it was being melted on the stove. It also made quite a mess.
After that I did some zumba to burn off those calories because some camps have dance classes. And I'm going to put those calories back on with popcorn and a movie probably in a pillow fort. (I have been to a camp where they watched a movie on a projector screen. I believe it was Napoleon dynamite)
