November Favorites
I'm behind! It's finals week(s). I have some pretty big papers to write, so this won't be too much.
Also just a few days ago I saw them in concert and I met them. Unfortunately I forgot to tell him about my dream. Plus I flew in a plane for the first time ever.
I love sweater weather!
I ran my first 5k! It was on Thanksgiving and a perfect balance of running and then stuffing my face!

I may do another post after finals about crossing things off my bucket list.

Pinterest Series: White Chicken Chili

Website with Recipe
With the weather changing, so is the food. It's time for chili, soup, and hot cocoa. So I forgot to take a picture, but it came out looking just like the above picture. I think a more appropriate name for this dish would White Chicken Soup with green chiles. It's more soup than chili, there's definitely a lot more liquid with the chicken stock. After serving, salt and pepper to taste. The chicken was a bit bland at first, but after adding salt and pepper it was better. And this is after I had already added salt and pepper while cooking it. I chose to cook it in a slow cooker (she gives you two options: slow cooker and stove). I think slow cooker is just easier because I don't really have to put much work into it and it makes the house smell so good.
Verdict: I didn't like it enough to want to make it again, but it does make good leftovers.

Playlist #3

A few favorites. I've been listening to Night Riots' new album all week and this is one of my favorites. Also one of my favorite The Hunna's songs. "Heathens" has been a bit overplayed lately, but it grew on me. I wasn't a big fan of "Material" at first, but the more I've listened the more I've started to like it. It's always the slower songs that take me a while to start liking.

Pinterest Series: Dream Country

I keep forgetting to look at the pictures to make sure they're looking somewhat alike, if I had I'd have made the purple brighter. But this is kind of a more wearable look.

October Favorites
Fashion:
Music:
Night Riots came out with their first full length album and I have been listening to it nonstop. It's so good and a lot like their other songs on the eps. My favorite songs on it are "Nothing Personal," "Fangs," "Don't Kill the Messenger," and this one has been stuck in my head ever since it came out "Breaking Free."
AFI!!!!!!!!!
I love them so much and they have been doing a bunch of teasers and finally they have released two new songs! They are: "White Offerings" and "Snow Cats" Yeah weird name, but I already love it. Both are on Spotify right now.
Books:
Every October I get an urge/craving to read spooky books. Katytastic and her other fellow booktubers read The Call and said it was scary, so I've been waiting for it to come to the library. Hopefully it gets to me before the end of October. I owned Blood and Chocolate, so I decided to read that while I waited to get other books from the library. In hindsight maybe I should have read the other scary book that I own, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls.
I found Bittersweet and What Waits in the Woods on a "scary YA" book list on goodreads, but that didn't work out well. Neither book was scary unless you count the creepy incest in Bittersweet. The scariest thing about What Waits in the Woods was the title of the book. So yeah it was kind of a bust this year, but it's on my favorite things because of the idea and wanting scary books during the month of October. I'm sure The Call will be a great ending to a scary month if I can get it in time.

Pinterest Series: Lower Stress II

credit
I painted my nails, colored, wrote in my journal, ate a favorite dessert, listened to my favorite songs,... I think all of these things help with lowering stress because they help take my mind off things. Journaling is nice if I have something to look forward to, such as writing about the concert I'm going to go to next month and how it'll be my first time flying in a plane. After coloring I had a feeling of happiness/awe of how pretty it turned out. Eating dessert gets me lost in it's delicious flavor (blueberry muffin btw, I love Bahama Bucks!)

I also found a few other things that help relax me. Reading a book that I like and can't wait to dive back into after doing work. Books can take you to a different world and immerse yourself, so that you don't think about what's going on around you. I also find scrolling through instagram to be relaxing. It's just something fun to do and will take your mind off of things.
