Pinterest Series: Before Bed Routine

Lavender Sugar Scrub and Nighttime Routine Printable:

Website

I did this for a week and this is what happened:
So I guess this lady made it so you would try out her sugar scrub, but I just used my own face scrub.
- First I substituted face cream for just taking off my makeup. I don't always put on a full face, but recently I've been doing that and I get super lazy with taking makeup off at night. I was starting to break out, and I think taking my makeup off each night helped my break outs go away. Win!
- I'm lazy at night and just want to go to bed, so I don't always get to my teeth. But I did for this week and it was quite nice going to bed with a fresh mouth.
- After taking my makeup off I used a face wash, which was actually a morning face wash that is supposed to energize. So not sure if that's a part of why I felt awake at night.
- For the socks part I put lotion on my feet and then put on socks, so that my feet would get soft over night. The problem is is that it is summer and super hot, so the socks would come off in the middle of the night.
- So I did charge my technology, but it was hard to turn off when I'm reading an e-book and I want that to be my 1 chapter for the night.
- Setting my alarm was the easiest. I do that every night.
- Laying out clothes and journaling I think were the culprits of keeping me awake. After this night routine as soon as I got into bed I wasn't tired anymore. So I'd lay there for an hour or more and I think it's because my brain was working. I was trying to decide on clothes and then I had to think of what to write.
- Reviewing the things that I wanted to do the next day was nice. It made me feel like I had a plan for the next day. Even if it's summer and all that was on my list was go to work.
- I liked the reading part. I am always up for reading.

This whole thing took me about 45 minutes every night. So I would have to think about what time I'd want to be in bed and plan accordingly. Right now I've kept the taking makeup off, teeth, and setting alarm each night. I might do a few of these again depending on the night, but I felt like doing all of this just woke me up and resulted in not getting good sleep. Which is weird, I think it's because my brain was trying to think about what comes next and what I need to do for tomorrow. Maybe picking clothes and making to do lists should be done in the late afternoon before it gets too late.
