Favorite Things: February

Movies

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. So I mentioned this in an earlier post, but this movie was amazing! I will be buying it when it comes on DVD and I think it has made itself into my top favorite movies.
I have had a while to think about it and need to comment on a few things, so if you have not seen the movie SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!!
*When Darcy first appears in that awesome leather coat and fights zombies I thought "Darcy is a badass!" and then I knew the rest of the movie would be amazing. Also the actor that plays Darcy has the most interesting voice. It is husky/gravelly? It would be a good villain vampire voice or you know a zombie slayer voice. It really grew on me plus his looks. I wasn't so sure if he was good looking, but he grew on me. I think most Darcys are like that though. Also when he got to the zombie church hooked his horse up to the window bars and went into the cell that was holding Lydia (was it Lydia? or was it Kitty?) AND THEN he SHUTS the CELL DOOR! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING DARCY?! And then it all made sense when the zombies attack Wickham and the horse pulls the window bars free. Wow I did not see that coming! Also I don't understand why Wickham didn't look like a zombie. He rips his shirt open to show his chest is looking under the weather, but his face is perfect, I don't understand! He's been a zombie since the beginning of the movie so how did he keep his face from concaving in? That was the only thing I couldn't get my head around other than that it was amazing!

Exercise
Sports Shoes, Running Shoes, Sneakers
Running. My brothers have been doing 5ks, 12 ks, 1/2 marathons, etc. So I've been going to a lot of these races lately and it has inspired me to start running. Because I want free shirts and medals...no really. I was running off and on and now because I want to get more serious and be able to make it to the finish line I've decided to work on my mile time. I started in January and I went down a minute! But I have been sick and have not ran since the beginning of February, so I might be back to my original time, but hey if I keep working on it that means I'll start getting more and more used to running and no one will have to drag me across the finish line!

Sickness
I've been sick. Blah! Ok this is not my favorite thing, let's get that straight. Theraflu is my favorite thing when I am sick. It is a packet that one pours into hot water and makes you feel all warm inside. I like the night time one because it has menthol. It is like magic! My throat to my ears were hurting and after I drank the Theraflu the soreness went away within about 10 - 15 minutes. It was great.

Netflix

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls, and Fuller House. Enough said?
Most of my family has been sick this weekend, so we kind of went on a Netflix binge. We are re-watching Gilmore Girls before the new Gilmore Girls Netflix series comes out. I'm so excited about that! We watched half of the first season of Fuller House.Well the only season, but I hope there is a second season. It is actually pretty fun especially if you used to watch the original Full House. Then late at night after people were sleeping and I couldn't watch any of these shows without them I turned on Buffy which I haven't watched in a while. Then that turned into a marathon for me which isn't good since I have homework to do.

Food
Soy Sauce. Yes soy sauce. I don't know if it was because I was sick and I wasn't getting enough sodium in my diet, but I was seriously craving soy sauce. I do like soy sauce usually, but to only crave soy sauce and not care what is under it is weird. I usually crave like Panda Express with soy sauce on my fried rice, but I just wanted soy sauce. So I had sushi at school because it comes with soy sauce.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

This will be in my favorites of the month, but putting this out there now, so you can go see it now.
This may be one of my favorite movies. It still has the "Pride and Prejudice" romance, but with so much violence. And it is amazing!! It is the most badass movie I have seen in a while. The nice thing is there is a lot of fighting, but it's not super gory. Ladies go ahead and take your boyfriends/husbands/guy friends, this is the kind of Pride and Prejudice that I think guys will enjoy. And so will you! It also has some humor. This is the first version where I actually liked Mr. Collins.

Pinterest Series: One Pot Lasagna Soup

Easy One Pot Lasagna Soup tastes just like lasagna without all the layering or dishes! Simply brown your beef and dump in all ingredients and simmer away!:

My Soup:

It actually tasted really good. Instead of cooking the noodles in the soup, I cooked them separately and then added into the soup. The recipe says it's easy and just a one pot thing, but it seemed a little more complicated then it should have been. Maybe it's because I cooked the noodles separate and then had to warm the soup back up when the noodles were ready. I should have cooked the noodles first. It was really messy too. I got chicken broth and tomato sauce on me, so wear a shirt you don't like. It was a little messy to eat because all of the red and it splashes at you. It makes a lot of leftovers and make it in a big pot because by the time I added everything it was about to overflow. Also when heating up in the microwave the next day use paper towel to cover the bowl because it was splash out all over the microwave. Or you could probably heat it up over the stove. It's just the microwave is easier and I was only making it for myself. The heavy cream is optional, but you should totally use it, unless you're allergic to dairy. But if you're not...it makes the soup so delicious! If I have to much dairy I'll get sick and heavy cream is a lot of dairy, but I didn't care! It is so worth getting sick over. I'm not sure if I'll make this again just because it was so messy, but maybe I will way in the future.
I also added cheese to the soup and stirred it in, which was delicious. She just uses cheese as a garnish, but I don't believe her because of that top picture, so I added cheese to make it more cheesy
like that.

Ipsy: January Glam Bag

Oh that's a little blurry. I did not notice until it was on here, that's probably the best you'll get from me on account of my shaky hands-neosis syndrome.
So I will start off by saying that I have unsubscribed from Ipsy and will be receiving a different subscription. Ipsy is a fun thing to get and it's cheap, but I want to try something different. I told myself when I started that I would give it two months and I gave it three. I would have liked Ipsy better if I was able to choose the products that I wanted. They show what products they are sending out for the month and I always found myself looking at it and saying,  "I wish I got that."
I love makeup and I always want to experiment, but I can't do that when they keep sending me lotions and colors that do not work with my skin tone. The last bag I received was pretty bad if the best item was facial lotion/mask (something I get in every bag.)
So I decided to try a subscription that I've been wanting to try for a long time. The only thing that held me back from getting it before was the price, but it's every three months and ten dollars more than getting ipsy for three months (sorry that's not true, it is if you have a ten dollars off coupon.) It also comes with more items and the value of the box is way more than I'm paying, so I think I'll give it a go. It is Fabfitfun and it comes with more items than just makeup which makes me excited. I like a little variety. I will be getting the welcome box, hopefully soon and let you guys know how it goes. Oh and another thing I like about Fabfitfun is that everyone gets the same thing except for a difference in color and design for some products. So I won't be wishing I had something else unless it has to do with color, but if I sign up for a year they'll let me pick what color I want where ipsy doesn't give that option. Disclaimer: everything here is my opinion and who knows maybe I won't like Fabfitfun, but I really hope I do.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara: I wrote about this in my January favorites. So you probably already know that this is the winner of the bag. That's another thing about ipsy is that this is the only product that I have incorporated into my makeup routine. Everything else I've used probably twice in the last three months. This mascara makes my lashes long and curled.

Tucker Ashley Eye Complex (not pictured): I think it's eye cream. It doesn't say what it does. It just says to apply under and around eye 1-2 times a day. I really have no use for it, so I gave it away (why it is not pictured.)

Promise Organic Argan Creme Facial Lotion: It smells like an orange roll. You know cinnamon rolls? Except they're orange? Ah here they are... Credit
They are quite delicious. Anyway I think it's a good smell and I don't mind putting that smell on my face (unlike the other lotion I received.) It seemed to work and made my face moisturized.

Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner in Jac: I've only used this a little bit because I like my eyeliner darker, at least for my upper lashline. I used it on my lower lashline and it seemed to look okay. It's a gold brown color, but I think it's a little too light for me.

City Color Eyeshadow Trio in Falling Leaves: It seems like this would have been a good one to give out in the November bag or before that because of the autumn colors, but I still like it. They are nice colors and I have used them for a few different looks, They go on a little darker than they look, which I like a lot. I think this was my second favorite item in the bag.

Temptu Highlighter: I redeemed this product with points that I had earned on the site. It arrived with the liquid leaking into the cap, but at least it's not actually coming out of the cap while closed and making a mess everywhere. It's also a little dark for me, so I've only used it about twice. It doesn't say what color it is, so is this their only highlighter? A much better, prettier, and cheaper highlighter is elf's Shimmer Facial Whip in Lilac Petal.

Makeup:

This mascara is definitely in my top 5 favorites.

I received it in my ipsy January bag and I've been using it everyday. It's called Fairy Lashes Curl and it really does make my lashes look fairy like. It really does curl my lashes, just everything about is perfect.

Dessert:

Pinkbox Doughnuts is so delicious. They have all kinds of doughnuts, but the best is their cronut holes. If you haven't had a cronut it is if a croissant and a donut made a baby. They're sooo good. Pinkbox is only in Las Vegas though, so come party and eat donuts!

Cheesecake Factory's Chris' Outrageous Cheesecake. We had a birthday in the family this month and my dad bought the whole cake. It's amazing! It's chocolate cake, brownie, the frosting that goes on German chocolate cake, and chocolate chip coconut cheesecake. So good!
